Cottage on Spoonbill: A Spacious Cape San Blas Vacation Rental Steps from the Beach

Meet Cottage on Spoonbill: Your Cape San Blas Beach Getaway

If you’re searching for the perfect Cape San Blas vacation rental for a family beach trip, multigenerational vacation, or getaway with friends, meet Cottage on Spoonbill.

Located on beautiful North Cape San Blas, Florida, Cottage on Spoonbill combines one of the most desirable locations on Florida’s Forgotten Coast with an unusually flexible layout. This spacious 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom Cape San Blas beach house sleeps up to 13 guests and offers dedicated beach boardwalk access just steps from the property.

Instead of loading everyone into the car every time you want to visit the beach, grab your chairs and beach gear and head down the boardwalk toward the sugar-white sand and Gulf waters.

But location is only part of what makes Cottage on Spoonbill special.

A Cape San Blas Vacation Rental Built for Families and Groups

One of the most unique features of Cottage on Spoonbill is its layout.

The home offers two completely separate living spaces, making it an excellent option for two families traveling together, grandparents joining a family vacation, adult children traveling with parents, or groups who want to vacation together while still having some privacy.

Guests have access to:

●4 bedrooms

●3 full bathrooms

●Sleeping accommodations for up to 13 guests

●2 full kitchens

●2 living rooms

●2 washers and dryers

●Large wraparound porch

●Covered patio

●Gas grill

●Outdoor shower

●Smart TVs

●Parking for up to three vehicles

●Pet-friendly accommodations

●Dedicated beach boardwalk access

●VayKLife beach gear credit

For larger groups searching for Cape San Blas vacation rentals for families, this two-level arrangement provides something many traditional beach houses cannot: the ability to stay together without having to share every living space.

Two Separate Living Areas Under One Roof

The first and second levels of Cottage on Spoonbill function as separate living spaces.

The first floor has its own exterior entrance and includes a full kitchen, living room, dining area, primary bedroom, bathroom, washer and dryer, and covered patio.

Upstairs, guests will find another full kitchen and living area along with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sleeper sofa, laundry facilities, and a large wraparound porch.

That makes Cottage on Spoonbill particularly well-suited for a multigenerational Cape San Blas vacation, two-family beach trip, or extended family getaway.

Everyone gets to enjoy the vacation together while still having space to spread out.

Walk to the Beach in Minutes

When choosing a Cape San Blas beach rental, location matters.

Cottage on Spoonbill features dedicated beach boardwalk access just steps from the home. That means beach days don’t have to involve driving around looking for parking or hauling everything a long distance.

Walk down to the beach in the morning, return to the house for lunch, head back to the Gulf for an afternoon swim, and finish the day with a sunset walk along the shoreline.

The home’s outdoor shower also makes it easy to rinse off after spending the day in the sand.

Cape San Blas is known for its laid-back atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and outdoor recreation. Visitors come to the area to swim, fish, paddle, bike, explore St. Joseph Bay, and simply slow down along one of Northwest Florida’s quieter stretches of coastline.

A Pet-Friendly Cape San Blas Vacation Rental

Want to bring your dog on your Forgotten Coast vacation?

Cottage on Spoonbill is pet-friendly, making it an attractive option for travelers searching for pet-friendly Cape San Blas vacation rentals.

Cape San Blas and Gulf County are especially popular among travelers who don’t want to leave their four-legged family members behind. Many Gulf County beaches welcome dogs, giving families an opportunity to enjoy the coast together.

Always review current local beach rules and the property’s pet policies before your stay.

First-Floor Accommodations

The first floor provides its own private coastal retreat.

Guests enter from the patio into a bright living space with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and comfortable living room.

The first-floor primary bedroom includes a queen bed and a private bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and separate soaking tub.

There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the living room.

Having a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, and laundry area on this level makes it especially convenient when multiple families are sharing the property.

Second-Floor Accommodations

Upstairs is another complete living space designed for gathering after a day on the beach.

The open-concept area includes a spacious kitchen, dining space, and living room with additional sleeping accommodations.

The second-floor sleeping arrangements include a primary bedroom with a king bed and private bathroom, a queen guest bedroom, and another guest bedroom with a full bed and a twin bed.

The living room also includes a queen sleeper sofa.

Outside, the large wraparound porch provides additional space to enjoy the Cape San Blas coastal atmosphere. Fire up the gas grill, sit around the picnic table, or relax in the Adirondack chairs after spending the afternoon by the Gulf.

Beach Gear Without Packing the Entire House

A Florida beach vacation usually requires a surprising amount of equipment.

Cottage on Spoonbill makes that easier through a VayKLife beach gear credit available with qualifying stays.

Guests can select from available vacation gear such as beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, paddleboards, coolers, games, and other beach essentials and have selected gear delivered to the vacation rental.

It’s one more reason Cottage on Spoonbill works well for families looking for an easy Cape San Blas beach vacation.

Things to Do Near Cottage on Spoonbill

One of the advantages of staying on North Cape San Blas is having access to much more than the beach.

At the northern end of the peninsula is T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, one of the area’s signature outdoor destinations. The park offers white-sand beaches, dunes, swimming, fishing, shelling, snorkeling, hiking, and opportunities to see native wildlife.

St. Joseph Bay also makes Cape San Blas popular for kayaking, paddleboarding, boating, fishing, and seasonal scalloping.

Visitors can spend their days exploring the coast and then return to Cottage on Spoonbill for a quiet evening near the beach.

Explore Port St. Joe

A Cape San Blas vacation also puts you within easy reach of Port St. Joe, Florida.

Port St. Joe offers a walkable downtown, locally owned shops, restaurants, coffee spots, fishing, boating, and access to St. Joseph Bay.

It’s easy to spend a morning on the beach, head into Port St. Joe for shopping or dinner, and then return to Cape San Blas for sunset.

Visitors who want to experience more of Florida’s Forgotten Coast can also explore nearby Indian Pass, St. Joe Beach and Mexico Beach.

Why Vacation on Cape San Blas?

Cape San Blas offers a different Florida beach experience from the state’s larger resort destinations.

Instead of high-rise development and crowded entertainment districts, the area is known for natural coastal scenery, outdoor recreation, and a slower pace.

A typical Cape San Blas vacation might include:

Morning walks on the beach, kayaking on St. Joseph Bay, fishing, paddleboarding, biking, exploring St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, shopping in Port St. Joe, enjoying fresh seafood, watching Gulf sunsets, and spending uninterrupted time with family.

For travelers searching for quiet Florida beaches, Forgotten Coast vacation rentals, Cape San Blas family vacations, or a Florida beach house near the Gulf, the area offers an appealing combination of natural beauty and laid-back coastal living.

Cottage on Spoonbill Is Made for Multigenerational Vacations

Large family vacations can be difficult when everyone is sharing the same kitchen, living room, and common areas.

Cottage on Spoonbill solves that problem in a simple way.

Two kitchens.

Two living rooms.

Two laundry areas.

Separate first- and second-floor living spaces.

Multiple outdoor gathering areas.

And room for up to 13 guests.

Grandparents can have their own space downstairs while parents and children stay upstairs. Two families can split between floors. Friends can travel together without feeling crowded.

It’s a flexible setup that makes this large Cape San Blas vacation rental stand out.

Discover Florida’s Forgotten Coast

Cottage on Spoonbill also makes a great home base for exploring the wider Forgotten Coast.

Spend one day relaxing on Cape San Blas. Visit Port St. Joe the next. Explore St. Joseph Bay, take a fishing charter, visit a state park, discover Indian Pass, or make a day trip toward Mexico Beach.

The Forgotten Coast is best enjoyed slowly.

There doesn’t have to be a packed itinerary. Some of the best days involve nothing more than coffee on the porch, a few hours on the beach, fresh seafood, and watching the sun disappear over the Gulf.

Remember that back-to-school assignment: “What I Did This Summer”?

Ours involved a lot less lounging by the water and a lot more designing houses beside it.

This summer, we completed two full-service vacation rental projects in Port St. Joe, Florida. Both began as empty new construction homes. Both needed to work beautifully for guests while still feeling personal to the families who own them.

And despite being only a short distance apart, they couldn’t have turned out more differently.

At Chateau Nemours, we started with an unexpected black-and-gold palette and layered in natural materials, texture, and contrast for a more sophisticated take on coastal design.

At WindMark Beach, the request was simple: no more white. We brought in rich blues, warm woods, deeper tones, and personal details that reflect the owners themselves.

But the finished rooms are only part of the story.

What happens behind the scenes?

Designing a vacation rental means thinking well beyond what will look good in photographs.

We’re considering durability. Sleeping capacity. Guest experience. How furnishings will hold up to frequent use. How the owners themselves will feel when they come to stay.

Then there are the hundreds of details no one sees on Instagram.

Receiving and inspecting furniture. Catching damaged pieces before installation. Coordinating deliveries. Styling rooms. Setting up kitchens. Solving the inevitable surprises. And making sure it all comes together as intended.

That process is exactly why seeing an empty house become a complete home never gets old.

Already thinking about summer 2027?

For a vacation rental to be ready for the 2027 season, there is a lot that needs to happen before the first guests arrive. Selections need to be finalized. Furnishings need to be ordered and received. Installation and photography need to happen. Then the property needs to be ready to market.

If a new vacation rental or substantial refresh is part of your plans for 2027, now is the time to begin thoughtfully.
